Role Overview:As a Mainframe Specialist across Capacity Planning and Performance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of my client's mainframe systems. Your expertise will be essential in analysing and predicting workload trends, optimising system resources, and proactively identifying potential bottlenecks. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute capacity planning strategies for mainframe systems to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
• Monitor system performance, analyse trends, and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate with IT, operations, and business teams to understand future workload demands and align system resources accordingly.
• Conduct performance tuning, workload analysis, and stress testing to identify and mitigate potential system bottlenecks.
• Prepare regular reports on system performance, capacity, and health, and present findings to senior management.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in mainframe technologies and apply best practices to enhance system efficiency.
• Participate in incident management and root cause analysis for performance-related issues.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in mainframe capacity planning and performance management, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
• Strong knowledge of mainframe technologies, including IBM z/OS, CICS, DB2, and related subsystems.
• Proven track record in performance tuning, workload analysis, and system optimisation.
• Experience with monitoring tools and performance management software specific to mainframe environments.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to make informed decisions.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
