Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for driving strategic initiatives? We're looking for an experienced Communications Manager to ensure messages resonate with the community, stakeholders, and government entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic and corporate communication strategies to enhance the understanding of organisational goals and government objectives across the community.
  • Oversee the timely and budget-compliant delivery of communication plans and services.
  • Establish and manage flexible communication platforms tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align communication activities with broader strategic objectives.
  • Create and manage high-quality communication materials, including newsletters, brochures, reports, media releases, presentations, and website content.
  • Build strong, cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster innovation and best practices in communication.
  • Oversee the management of contractors and consultants to ensure compliance with procurement guidelines and successful delivery of communication initiatives.

Key Challenges:

  • Efficiently resource communication and community engagement priorities across NSW.
  • Develop compelling storytelling that resonates with communities and external audiences.
  • Navigate politically sensitive environments and proactively address potential public exposure issues.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in communications and stakeholder engagement, preferably in large, complex environments.
  • NSW Government experience is highly desirable.
  • Tertiary qualification in communications or a relevant discipline.
  • Proven ability to manage confidential and politically sensitive communications.
  • Experience identifying and addressing high-risk issues with public exposure.
