Economic & Policy Analyst - NSW Government Location: Parramatta, Sydney, with great WFH flexibility Rate: $650 - $750 per day + Super Contract Length: 6mths Note: Must have 5yrs+ experience as an economic & policy analyst preferably in the Government/Public sector.We are currently seeking an experienced Economic & Policy Analyst for our NSW Government client who will be responsible for research and economic analysis for business cases, including risk and commercial analysis, to inform strategy, operations and investment decisions.The role is within the Early Childhood Outcomes (ECO) division & leads the delivery of the Early Years Commitment program, including comprehensive investments in the critical first 5 years of life for every child - in child development and in early education and care, making investments that support families and the community now, as well as investing in long term reforms for the future.The Childcare and Economic Opportunities Fund (the fund) is designed to provide supply-side interventions into the early childhood education and care sector to reduce the barriers to workforce participation by improving the affordability and accessibility to quality early childhood education and care.Preferable to have experience working in Government programs or Education sector.Keys to Role: Roles will suit an experienced Economic & Policy Analyst -

Key accountabilities:
- Develop research and economic analysis, to support the Director, Executive Director and the fund's board members in policy and funding decisions, and contribute to advice on options related to risk, procurement and commercial strategies.
- Contribute to innovative and fit-for-purpose materials to communicate complex policy issues and economic concepts and data analysis, prepared for audiences with varying degrees of economic literacy.
- Collaborate with other areas of the directorate and division to coordinate and develop analysis of the impact of reforms and policy proposals to support decision making.
- Develop and maintain networks and stakeholder relationships. to identify opportunities to enhance project management, methodologies, software and modelling techniques, in line with the department's commitment to continuous improvement.
- Utilise systems and processes to enable the provision of advice and training to staff across the directorate to ensure best practice operations and governance of the fund.
- Prepare quality evidence-based written briefs, proposals, correspondence and reports which effectively communicate findings to inform department executives and the fund's board members.
