Business Analyst: Operating Model
Location: Ultimo, Sydney, with hybrid working
Rate: $700 - $750 per day + Super
Contract Length: 6mths with probable extension
Note: Must have 7yrs+ experience as a business analyst in operating model change environment preferably in the higer education or Public sector.
We are currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst for our University client who will be responsible for providing analysis, insight and advice on whole of university functional, people and processes for a financially sustainable operating model. Importantly the Op Model BA will build strong and productive relationships with program team, PMO and university stakeholders.
The Operating Model Business Analyst is a critical role in program delivery and in enabling the university's transformational agenda which includes investment in a portfolio of initiatives and programs that will shape the future of this prestigious university.
Preferable to have experience working in Op model change environment and in Universities.

- 7+ years BA experience
- Strong business process mapping skills required.
- Experience in bigger picture, operating models and how everything fits into the bigger picture.
- Experience in process redesign, up/down stream mapping.

Responsibilities
- Support scoping, planning and execution of program initiatives.
- Undertake and document detailed business process, people and data analysis using a range of tools including interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process mapping 'As Is' and 'To Be', scenarios, task and workflow analysis.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, deconstruct complex information into clear communication.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with customers and stakeholders to analyse and validate their information needs, business drivers and functional needs, services and people.
- Develop recommended approaches that support of transitioning of the business unit/s from their "As-Is" (current) to the proposed "To-Be" (future) state, including proposed changes to end-to-end business processes and current technology solutions based on user requirements and market options and in accordance with UTS standards, using appropriate language and in line with the University's strategic priorities and vision.
- Conduct assessments of Risk, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies, and identify, document, review, mitigate and manage these items (including being responsible for reporting and escalating items as necessary to ensure program and projects stay on track).
- Contribute to and support the development of key program and project documents, including Business Cases, Project Initiation Briefs, Options Studies, Project Plans, Program Reports etc.
- Support effective and efficient Program and Project delivery (including participating in and/or leading standups, sprints, retrospectives and other Waterfall and Agile delivery methods).
- Provide input into governance forums (including Program Steering Committee and Program Working Groups, communications, and presentations).
- Collaborate with human centric design experts, operating model design specialists / architects, solution designers, developers, IT, HR and other specialists and SMEs as necessary (including external vendors).
- Work closely with other program and project team members and together facilitate open communication and discussion between stakeholders, using feedback to assess and promote understanding of the need for future changes in functions, service design, structure and capabilities and systems.
